BPC-157: what 47 rodent studies actually say

BPC-157 is a synthetic fragment of a protein found in gastric juice, and it has one of the deepest animal literatures of any research peptide. Deep in rodents, anyway. In humans it's close to bare.
What the animal work shows
Across tendon, muscle, and gut-injury models, BPC-157 accelerates healing markers PMID 16583442 ↗ and appears to modulate the nitric oxide pathway PMID 23755725 ↗. Gut-protective effects show up repeatedly in ulcer and colitis models PMID 29358856 ↗.
The data suggests a body-protective mechanism. It does not say "this changed my life."
Where the receipts run out
The supplement ads tend to stop before this bit. There are essentially no controlled human trials establishing efficacy or a safety profile. Everything above is preclinical. Compounds like this are investigational and not approved for human use.
The honest read
The mechanism is real and the animal signal is real. The human evidence isn't there yet. That's not a knock, it's just where the science sits. n=1 (me) ran the maze. The humans haven't.
